Our Favourite Places in the BVI
Naturally you will be exploring other parts of the BVI so here are a few recommendations – places we like to hang out:
If you are on a yacht, Cooper Island is a ‘must visit’ even if it’s just for a lunch stop.
This is the perfect resort. A beautiful beach, new restaurant with an open kitchen, a lounge area with comfy chairs, Rum Bar (100 different varieties), cafe and ice cream bar as well as a beautifully stocked boutique. It is literally heaven on earth.
This new restaurant in Soper’s Hole marina, on the far western tip of Tortola, is very different. Modern, quirky and very stylish, it is highly rated for food but we like to go and watch the world go by with one of their fabulous Italian Lattes.
Close to Scaramouche on Frenchman’s Cay Island, this very tasteful resort is an oasis of calm. Famous for their Sunday Brunch, the restaurant and bar are open to non-residents.
We have two favourites in the capital: Island Roots cafe at the ‘sea end’ of Main Street serves some of the best coffee, cakes and pastries in the BVI. There are some lovely things to buy in the integral Hucksters shop.
We also love The Watering Hole (opposite Banco Popular) which is a South African bar with food. It is very friendly, stylish and has a shaded outdoor seating area. They have food theme nights including curry, BBQ and pizza. They also own a very interesting shop next door with lots of South African specialities and some great SA wines.
Everyone should visit Cane, one of the most stunning beaches in the Caribbean.
We like to relax at Paradise Beach Club where you can enjoy a drink with the sand between your toes or wander down the beach to Myetts where an array of watersports equipment and helpful instruction awaits courtesy of the friendly folk at BVI SUP Co.
